Challenges faced by organisations’ EDI leaders

Effective EDI practitioners and leaders see themselves as innovators, change agents and change leaders and regard the scope of their work to include all the organisation’s activities. However, all too often some within the executive leadership team would prefer their EDI specialists to have a fairly tight scope that concentrates mainly on cultural events, activities and affinity groups, rather than on organisational behaviour and business as usual. This misalignment of purpose inevitably leads to tension, frustration and often premature departure of the EDI specialist.
